Werkschau

The exhibition Werkschau: F+F Schule für Kunst und Mediendesign (Showcase: F+F School of Art and Media Design) presents the broadest possible selection of current creative work by students of photography at a Zurich art school. Classic themes play an important role in their work; these include landscape, the human body, and the pictorial representation of spatial volumes. The selection ranges from photo-documentary projects to statements of artistic intent, all in the spirit of the Coalmine Fotogalerie.
The photography course was established in its current form in 2003. The course of study focuses on art and design as a dialectic process, where the artistic method does not compete with practical technique but rather the two aspects aim for an inspirational synergy. During their four years of study, students tackle various theories in art and design and get to know different working methods, giving them a multi-faceted overview of the many career options in photography.
